When Does Andor Season 2 Premiere on Disney+? Watch Guide
After almost three years, fans of Andor can rejoice as the bittersweet final season is finally back. Here’s the lowdown on what to expect from the supersized premiere, including the exact release time, how to stream it, and details on the Star Wars prequel’s four major time jumps.
The upcoming season will consist of 12 episodes split into four chapters of three episodes each. Picking up one year after the Ferrix uprising from the Season 1 finale, viewers will follow Cassian Andor (played by Diego Luna) on a four-year journey. The story kicks off in 4 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin) before leading up to the events of Rogue One.
According to series creator Tony Gilroy, the second half of the season will see a time jump of a year, with various significant events unfolding in between. The narrative will sometimes pick up with intervals of a week, three days, or four days before leaping forward a year.
Set in an era rife with danger, deception, and intrigue, the official synopsis for Season 2 promises that “Cassian Andor will discover the difference he can make in the struggle against the tyrannical Galactic Empire. He embarks on a path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.”
In addition to Diego Luna, Season 2 will see Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, and Adria Arjona reprise their roles. Fans can also look forward to Alan Tudyk returning to the cast as K-2SO, along with more exciting cameos from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The highly anticipated premiere of Andor Season 2 is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT on Tuesday, April 22, exclusively on Disney+. Luckily, fans won’t just get one episode, but three episodes to kick off the first chapter. Subsequent episodes will be released each week, with the final three dropping on May 13, 2025.
