Greg Kinnear and Aidy Bryant to star in Disney+ series pilot “Holes”
Exciting news for fans of “Holes”! Disney+ is ready to take us on a new adventure with the TV adaptation of the beloved story. If you remember the 2003 film or the original 1998 book by Louis Sachar, get ready for a fresh take on the tale.
In this new series, we follow the story of a teenage girl named Hayley as she navigates life at a detention camp. Under the watchful eye of The Warden, played by Greg Kinnear, the campers are put to work digging holes for a mysterious purpose. Aidy Bryant joins the cast as Sissy, a camp counselor who might not be exactly who she seems.
While the original story focused on Stanley Yelnats, this adaptation switches things up by making Hayley the protagonist. Played by Shay Rudolph, Hayley finds herself at camp after being wrongly accused of a crime. Joining her are a talented group of young actors, including Flor Delis Alicea, Anire Kim Amoda, Iesha Daniels, Sophie Dieterlen, Alexandra Doke, and Maeve Press.
The series promises to bring a fresh perspective to the beloved story, blending elements of friendship, mystery, and adventure. Keep an eye out for Noah Cottrell, who will play Kitch, a character working in the kitchen at Camp Yucca. Copyright © 2025, ABC Audio. All rights reserved.
