Apple TV+ premieres new drama “Carême” at 2025 Series Mania Festival
Apple TV+ recently celebrated the world premiere of its highly-anticipated French-language drama “Carême” at the Series Mania Festival in Lille, France. The event took place on Friday night and marked the beginning of an exciting journey for this new show.
The opening night was attended by stars Benjamin Voisin, Lyna Khoudri, Jérémie Reiner, and acclaimed director Martin Bourboulon. The show is set to make its global debut on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, with the first two episodes, followed by one episode weekly every Wednesday through June 11, 2025.
“Carême” tells the captivating story of Antonin Carême, the world’s first celebrity chef, who rose from humble beginnings in Paris to culinary stardom in Napoleon’s Europe. His journey is fueled by his dreams of becoming the most famous chef in the world, but his talents and ambitions attract the attention of powerful politicians who use him as a spy for France. The series explores the choices he must make – between revenge, wealth, fame, and love – and the costs associated with each path.
Based on the book “Cooking for Kings: The Life of Antonin Carême, the First Celebrity Chef” by renowned historian Ian Kelly, the show is a collaboration between Kelly and Davide Serino. Executive producers Vanessa van Zuylen and Dominique Farrugia have brought this gripping story to life on screen, with filming taking place in and around Paris.
