Prime Video Orders Octopus! TV Series from Jigsaw and Wells Street

Prime Video has announced an exciting new two-part documentary called Octopus! The show is executive produced and narrated by the talented Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Coming this spring, Octopus! is a co-production between Jigsaw Productions and Wells Street Films, the latter of which has an overall deal with Amazon MGM Studios.

The documentary will follow the life of the Giant Pacific Octopus from birth to death. It will include a variety of interviews, one of them being with the Emmy-nominated actor and comedian Tracy Morgan.

Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, expressed his excitement about the project, stating, “This charming and unique story will shine a light on these immensely special and intelligent animals through Phoebe’s endearing and comedic lens.” The documentary aims to not only showcase the beauty of the octopus but also highlight the impact these creatures have on those who study them.

Directed by Niharika Desai and with executive producers Jenny Robins and Phoebe Waller-Bridge from Wells Street Films, along with Stacey Offman, Richard Perello from Jigsaw Productions, and showrunner Melissa Wood, Octopus! promises to be a fascinating and entertaining look at these magical creatures.
