“Hulu and 20th Television Partner for New Series ‘Hip Hop Cop’ Based on ‘The Gangs of Zion'”
Hulu and 20th Television have an exciting new project in the works called Hip Hop Cop, inspired by the memoir The Gangs of Zion by Ron Stallworth. The series will showcase Stallworth’s life and work, not as a sequel to BlacKkKlansman, but as a standalone extension of his experiences.
Renowned producers like G-Unit Film & Television, headed by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and Ashok Amritraj’s Hyde Park Entertainment Group are on board to bring this story to life. The talented duo of Kevin Willmott and Anthony Hemingway will be writing and directing the series, bringing their award-winning skills to the project.
Hip Hop Cop will delve into Stallworth’s undercover work with the Salt Lake City Police Department during the 1990s rap and hip hop era, offering viewers a glimpse into his captivating and impactful journey. Additionally, the series is a reimagining of the film adaptation of The Gangs of Zion, which was previously in development by Hyde Park.
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s involvement as executive producer, along with the collaboration of other talented individuals like Ashok and Priya Amritraj, Kevin Willmott, and Anthony Hemingway, promises a compelling and engaging series that viewers won’t want to miss.
In addition, Hulu has some other great content in the works, including stand-up comedy specials featuring popular comedians like Kumail Nanjiani and Matteo Lane. The platform continues to provide a wide array of entertainment options for its audience to enjoy.
