Bono Documentary “Stories of Surrender” to Premiere on Apple TV+

A new documentary, Bono: Stories of Surrender, is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on May 30th. This film, based on Bono’s 2022 memoir Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story and its accompanying theater tour, is directed by Andrew Dominik.

The documentary will feature exclusive footage from the Beacon Theatre performances in New York City, along with live renditions of U2 songs by Bono himself. For an even more immersive experience, there will be a special version of the film called Bono: Stories of Surrender (Immersive) available on Apple Vision Pro. This groundbreaking format, recorded in 8K with Spatial Audio, allows viewers to feel like they are right on stage with Bono, immersed in his story in a 180-degree video experience.

In conjunction with the film’s release, an updated paperback edition of Bono’s memoir will also be launched.

Although U2 currently does not have any upcoming concerts scheduled, there have been hints of a new album in the works. The Edge mentioned in 2024 that he and Bono were collaborating on new music that might be a part of the next U2 album, produced by Brian Eno. The band is in a creative phase, enjoying the process of making music without any pressure, exploring different projects as they go.

U2 is known for stirring strong emotions among fans and critics alike, with passionate supporters and detractors. Stay tuned for more updates on their musical journey!
