Yellowjackets Season 3 Episode 1 Review: The “It Girl” Episode
Welcome back to the world of Yellowjackets! The show is back for its third season, and we’re diving right in with a review of the premiere episode, “It Girl.”
After a bumpy ride in season two, Yellowjackets has some ground to cover. While last season had its share of intense moments, it also had some slow patches, especially in the present-day storyline. Season one had a clear focus on Shauna and Jackie’s friendship, but that seemed to get a bit lost in the mix in the second season.
As we kick off this new season, there’s a lot of uncertainty. The big reveals from last season—like the truth about Shauna’s baby and the origin of the selection ritual—have already happened. This season seems to have a higher degree of difficulty, as there’s a lot unknown about what happened during the Yellowjackets’ time in the wilderness.
The premiere episode, “It Girl,” focuses more on the aftermath of last season’s events than anything else. We’re given a glimpse into the characters’ emotional states and where they’re at now. Misty, in particular, is dealing with grief in her own way, while Shauna takes a backseat to Callie in driving the Sadecki family storyline.
The episode sets the stage for what’s to come, with hints of new threats and mysteries on the horizon. While there are some comedic moments to lighten the mood, the focus remains on the characters and their relationships. As we start to see how things unfold, it’s clear that there’s plenty of drama and intrigue to come.
Overall, I’m more interested in the character interactions than the supernatural elements at play. There’s a lot of potential for conflict and tension between the characters, especially as old rivalries resurface. As we wait to see where the season takes us, one thing is certain: Yellowjackets is gearing up for another wild ride.
